Tibor Szentendrei, PhD
Senior Clinical Research Scientist
Tibor Szentendrei provides medical, scientific, and operational leadership and management of clinical research studies for multiple government clients as well as subject matter expertise for several ongoing projects and proposals that typically require strong scientific and technical background knowledge.
Dr. Szentendrei leads the National Institute on Aging (NIA) Clinical Trials Operations Support Center contract. His extensive experience in biomedical and pharmaceutical research, combined with his strong background in bioinformatics and broad knowledge of National Institutes of Health (NIH) studies and clinical study regulatory requirements, facilitates the management of this complex project. He has worked with NIA to develop general and study-specific guidelines and training, and to evaluate clinical trial documents for accuracy and compliance with NIH and federal guidelines, regulations, and policies.
Dr. Szentendrei’s more than 30 years of research experience covers development of new clinical diagnostic assays and technologies for government biodefense programs, basic neuroscience and clinical research of neural and immunological processes in stress and disease, and psychoactive drug research, resulting in more than 20 publications in scientific journals and numerous presentations on scientific meetings.
He holds a doctorate of philosophy in biochemistry and a master’s degree in biology, both from Eötvös Loránd University in Budapest, Hungary.
