NNDC Mood Outcomes Program Coordinating Center with Patient Data Reporting System
Client: National Network of Depression Centers (NNDC)
Client/study focus and needs: The NNDC Mood Outcomes Program is a multi-center, measurement-based care program designed to capture longitudinal patient-reported outcomes data at each clinic visit and present the aggregated data in real time to clinicians through a clinician dashboard. This collection of patient-reported outcomes will be used to promote higher-quality care and improve the patient-provider relationship. Clinicians can use this technology to provide personalized, evidence-based care to their patients as they better understand factors in the patient’s diagnoses, treatment, and symptom changes over time. A secondary objective of this program is to provide access to de-identified data as well as a contact registry for future mental health research.
We serve as the program coordinating center and are developing the Knowledge Base system to collect quality improvement program data and provide quality improvement metrics reporting and evaluation activities.
Our customized approach: We were able to tailor and enhance our existing electronic patient-reported outcomes (ePRO) system for the purposes of this project. In addition to the support we are providing through the development of this learning health care system, we will also be providing centralized infrastructure for the NNDC. Our role as the coordinating center allows us to streamline the administration of this program across 21 sites, implement enhancements to the system, and serve as the group who manages requests for data use for research.
Services: eClinical systems support and data management
Results: The system is currently being developed and will be deployed to 21 sites across the United States.
